On March 31, 2020, India announced that it would transform some 20,000 railway cars into isolation wards.It is expected to renovate 10 cars a week, starting with 5,000 compartments in five railway divisions.One car can be transformed into nine compartments, which are equipped with medical equipment such as medical bottle holder, oscilloscope and aspirator.So far, 1,397 cases have been confirmed in India, with a total of 35 deaths.
