At least 15 people were injured when a fire broke out in a house in the center of Barcelona Thursday, Europa news agency reported, citing sources with the city council.

According to reports, the fire department received the fire alarm at 4:30 am local time and immediately dispatched 12 fire crews.

At present, the fire has been successfully extinguished, the building did not suffer major damage.

Seven of the injured received medical treatment at the scene and eight others were hospitalized, including four in serious condition, sources said.The cause of the fire is still unknown.
