The China Earthquake Networks Center officially determined that a magnitude 7.4 earthquake hit Mexico at 23:00 on June 23.Video from the scene showed street poles and trees shaking violently, loud bangs in the distance and residents taking shelter in the streets. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a tsunami warning for Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras after a powerful earthquake struck southern Mexico.
